Center Stage ~ Atlanta, Georgia

On Friday April 8th, the most recent project between Derek Trucks and his wife Susan Tedeschi, known as the Tedeschi Trucks Band, took stage for the first time in Atlanta. The highly-anticipated event, brought a sold-out crowd to mid-town’s Center Stage. The talented band, including vocalist Mike Mattison, bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Koffi Burbridge on keyboards, certainly lived up to the hype. Cover songs like Hendrix’s "Manic Depression," The Meter’s "Just Kissed My Baby" and The Supreme's "Come See about Me" were welcome treats. The crowd was also privy to some tracks off the upcoming album Revelator, which is certain to be a huge hit. Standouts from Revelator are "Bound for Glory" and "Midnight in Harlem." This performance filled with soulful vocals, guitar mastery, and an outstanding horn section will not soon be forgotten. You can see more images from the show alongside an interview with Derek and Susan in the upcoming issue of Hittin' the Note.
