It was an amazing night of music for the fans at the Beacon Theatre this Wednesday night - with all of the ferocious power and quiet intensity that this band is known for. It really seemed as if they hit their stride in this fourth show of the run and it just kept getting better and better as the night went on. Derek's guitar solo in High Cost was a thing of beauty. Warren's vocals and guitar on School Girl were both wicked and nasty. Kind of Bird was jazz chaos at it's best. The Juke Horns, featured on five songs, added immensely - putting a match to the gasoline. Little Martha and Old Before My Time were heartbreaking. Gregg's vocals were particularly powerful, especially on Catfish Blues, One Way Out and Whipping Post. He reached deep into the well and sang with all of the emotional conviction and passion of a man with a hell-hound on his trail.
