This was the start of the final weekend at the Beacon Theatre and the first time, this year, the band would play three nights in a row.  You could feel the adrenaline in the room as the lights went out and the familiar notes of band members checking their instruments rang out.

It was a night of classics, old and new, and the first time they played Gamblers Roll during the run.  Bill Evans added his stellar sax to Warren's moody Dusk Till Dawn - a worthy song that will leave it's mark on this run forever.  This tune is a perfect example of the talent Mr. Haynes brings to the band.  The song writing and lyrics seems instantly familiar, yet it is like no other (with the possible exception of Desdemona).  An instant classic that will stand the test of time.  How does he do it?!  An incredible talent in an incredible band!

We also had the longest Blue Sky that this version of the band has ever played.  More than two and a half times longer than the original recording and even longer than the Stoneybrook archive version.  It was a beautiful song to experience as the band stretched out and enjoyed this one along with the audience.  It seems it was a night to really explore as Dusk Till Dawn, Revival and Dreams were longer than usual, as well.

It was great to see Berry Oakley, Jr. join the band and fun to see Susan Tedeschi play timbales on the encore!  Here's the set list:
