A West's Best El Grande selection!
On a tour that has seen highlights at every show, this might be the show to beat so far! The ABB debut of "I Shall Be Released," performed acoustic with Bob Weir, Warren and Derek, is worth the price of admission alone. Derek may have reached a new level on this version of "Dreams"--you'll have to hear it to believe it! "Gambler's Roll" was played for the first time on this tour, and like many songs, Gregg's recent health issues give it extra poignance.
This tour has seen lots of sit-ins and special guests, and this show is no exception. Besides "I Shall Be Released," Jay Collins of Gregg Allman and Friends added saxophone to "Dreams," "Mountain Jam" and "Southbound," and Scott Sharrard sat in for "You Don't Love Me" and "Southbound." The set-closing sequence of "You Don't Love Me," "JaBuma," and a "Mountain Jam" sandwich with "Dazed and Confused" in the middle is one of the longest continuous jams the band has ever played, and it rocks from start to finish!
