This project started out with Matt Zeiner and David Stoltz (both Dickey Betts Great Southern alums), and of course, the one and only Jaimoe. We got together last July in Connecticut. Had a large time, and we got some great stuff done. After Thanksgiving, we continued with some Atlanta friends: Sean O'Rourke, Tom Grose, Tomas Tamiree, Tommy Vickery and Andrew Black. After a while, it was ready to go.
We got your blues right here: slow traditional blues, faster rocking blues, a shuffle or two, a couple of jazzier pieces, one gorgeous fusion-y ballad blues, some psychedelic Hendrix blues and then we have La Puta...
Jaimoe once told me "all music is blues." So there. Jaimoe said it, I believe it, that settles it. Barry Richman and his cohorts here on this disc play some damn fine blues...in many colors, and sometimes a little (or a lot) outside the box. We hold these blues to be self-evident. Go ahead - have some!
