Any chance to see Gov't Mule is a special occasion, but how about several days worth of shows in the tropical splendor of Jamaica? We thought that would get your attention!
Yes, the dream has become a reality, as the Mule will host a special event at Jamaica's Grand Lido resort in January of 2010. Relaxing on the beach with a cold beverage while the Mule jams in the background - does life get any better than that? We think not! Like all of Destinations Concerts' package trips, these are all-inclusive vacations with everything from hotels (all rooms are suites) to food and top-shelf alcohol covered in the price - everything except airfare is included. Once you set foot on the gorgeous Grand Lido resort, your money is no good! The cost of the trip even includes fun activities like snorkeling and SCUBA diving in the crystal-clear Caribbean.
This trip will be a special occasion in every way. Besides three sets of prime Mule and a solo Warren Haynes show on the beach, unique events like the Gov't Mule Invitational Golf Tournament, hosted by Danny Louis (requires additional greens fee), the Matt Abts Drum Clinic and True Roadie Stories with Brian Farmer will give the fans a chance to interact with the band and crew in ways that simply aren't possible at regular shows. Saxophone legend Ron Holloway and world-renowned DJ Logic will add their musical skills to the event as special guests of the band, making this trip even more special.
Considering Warren's well-documented love of reggae music, it will be interesting to see if any of the Mighty High EP gets played at these shows. Reggae-flavored Mule tunes like "Unring the Bell" would sure sound extra special in the land of Bob Marley.

For years the Sarasota Blues Festival has been one of the best local music festivals in the U.S., drawing world-class talent like Gregg Allman and Buddy Guy and creating a fun, laidback atmosphere. This year promises to be another great one, with the legendary Little Feat heading up the bill! These veteran jam-rockers bring the heat every time they play, and they will have plenty of support this year, with master blues stylist Duke Robillard and fiery guitarslinger Larry McCray also appearing.
Gregg Allman and Friends fans won't want to miss a rare chance to see Floyd Miles and Bruce Katz play a special set together. These very special Friends have been part of the backbone of Gregg's touring band for years, and G.A. fans know they are the real deal. It will be great to see them get the opportunity to shine in the spotlight in Sarasota.

Many years from now, future generations will look back on the upcoming Allman Brothers Band/Widespread Panic tour with awe and amazement, and curse their luck for being born at the wrong time. Thanks to the Big House Foundation and Hittin' the Note, you can win a chance to witness history from the front row at one of these shows!
As they have done for years, the Big House Foundation will be holding an auction for each show on the tour, with the winner receiving two of the best seats in the house. As always, proceeds from the auction go to benefit the Big House, the Allman Brothers museum in Macon, GA. Thanks to generous donations from people like you, the Big House has been thoroughly renovated and is rapidly approaching its grand opening. This dream couldn't have happened without your help! Go to www.thebighousemuseum.org for details on how to place your bid.
And of course, Hittin' the Note will be out on the road again, so look for our booth at every stop on the ABB/Panic double bill. If you sign up for a subscription at our booth, or sign up a friend, you can be part of our favorite tour ritual. About 15 minutes before the Brothers hit the stage we will pull a lucky name out of the hat from that day's subscribers, and the winner will be able to watch the show from the front row!
Even if you don't win front row tickets, hanging out at the Hittin' the Note booth is always a great way to meet fellow fans and swap tour stories. All the cool folks will be there, so stop on by!

Speaking of cool people, do they get any cooler than Jai Johnny Johnson, aka Jaimoe? If so, they must not live on this planet, but then again, neither does Jaimoe! He is like a visitor from some altogether hipper alternate universe, one where there are no artificial boundaries between jazz, blues and soul. That is what makes Jaimoe's Jasssz Band such a joy to listen to - the mingling of genres into one immensely satisfying musical stew.
The Jasssz Band will be hitting the road this Fall, including a return to Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT on September 20th and opening for the Derek Trucks Band on November 5th in New London, CT. What a wonderful way to spend an evening! Click here for more info.

It is our hope that all remaining issues with the Beacon CDs will be resolved by the time the band goes back on the road in mid-August. If that happens, it will take about 4-6 weeks for everything to be manufactured. Therefore a September/October delivery date is probable. If these issues are not resolved by the end of August we will begin issuing refunds. Hittin' the Note and the Allman Brothers Band would like to thank all of our customers and fans for their remarkable patience during this process.
