It was another wild Saturday night at the Beacon Theatre with lots of special guest and a very good time was had by all!  For those of you that have missed the sound of the blues harp with the Brothers you got a double dose with Jimmy Hall and John Popper blowin' strong!  The Brothers pulled out the old Howlin Wolf song, Commit A Crime, that was recently played at the visit to the White House by Warren, Derek and Susan and did it proud.  They kept the Chicago Blues theme going with the famous Taj Mahal song, She Caught The Katy, and then went into a stellar Dreams with Warren playing the haunting guitar solos.

Afer a moving acoustic set the band reached back to the Duane Allman/Johnny Jenkins era and covered the Bob Dylan tune, Down Along The Cove.  A stellar performance of Franklin's Tower was a treat with Oteil singing lead and Popper adding his inventive harmonica sound.  The second set closed out with Liz Reed, featuring Rob Baranco on keys and Alvaro Benavides on bass.  Most of you are familiar with Baranco but if you have not heard Alvaro or the band he is in ( Pedrito Martinez) you will get another chance at Mtn Jam, don't miss it!  The encore was a rollickin' version of Southbound with Warren and Jimmy trading verses.  Yes indeed, it was a very fine Saturday night on the upper west side!
