The second of two shows at Oakland's Fox Theater proved that the first night wasn't just a fluke--The Allman Brothers brought their A game to the West Coast!  An unusual setlist and fiery performances make this another great show from the band.

The show starts on a bluesy note with ripping versions of "Done Somebody Wrong" and "You Don't Love Me" that let the crowd know the band means business. The song only known as "New Instrumental" is growing into yet another incredible ABB instrumental jam. Warren's voice is full of passion and longing on "The Sky Is Crying" and "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl." As if that wasn't enough, you don't hear "Whipping Post" in the first set very often, much less a version that crackles with electricity like this set-closing monster.

The second set opens with "Revival," a fitting song for the band's first West Coast tour in four years. Warren really shines in the second set, growling out a nasty "The Same Thing" that would make a preacher lay his Bible down and playing the lead solo in "Dreams" with imagination and precision. The entire band is hittin' the note on the set-closing "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," creating a groove as big as California itself.
