This show was a family affair with several notable sit-ins. Butch’s son Vaylor Trucks adds a third guitar harmony to a sublime version of "Hot ’Lanta" in the city that inspired the song, and Derek’s wife Susan Tedeschi sings the blues with conviction on "Feel So Bad." Atlanta guitar legend Barry Richman and Oteil Burbridge’s brother Kofi also made memorable guest appearances at this show, but the very best moments came from the ABB themselves. This might be Derek’s best "Dreams" solo ever, full of soaring, beautiful lines, touching on the themes Duane created but never duplicating the familiar runs. Instead, Derek crafts his own version and the results are magnificent! The "You Don’t Love Me>Mountain Jam" combo with Kofi's flute flavored transition to the mightly Mtn. Jam Reprise might be the jam of the year. Add a super-bluesy "The Sky Is Crying" on a rainy night, and you have a show with something for everyone!
