Joe Pitts is a powerful, soulful & multi-talented guitarist
pulling influences from yesterday into today. He has been compared to guitarists
like Warren Haynes, Larry McCray and Walter Trout. His influences range from
Duane Allman and Jeff Beck to Roy Buchanan, and in particular, Joe is becoming
known worldwide for his slide guitar work. He uses original Coricidin bottles,
as well as other slides, to create tone-filled licks that glide and soar over
the music.
Joe studied at Berklee College of Music, and later became a
faithful follower of Col Bruce Hampton, ARU and the bands of HORDE. The song
“Zambified” on the new disc is a clear nod to the Colonel, and shows that Joe
isn’t afraid to go “out of the box.” Rounding out the this fine album is a
powerful 10:40 version of Loan Me a Dime hidden at the end of the last
track.
