Any new music from the original lineup of the Allman Brothers Band is great to hear, and their new Archive Series CD, Boston Common 8/17/71, is one you will listen to often, from the first note to the last! The band played in Boston many times in their early days, and it continues to be one of their favorite towns to perform in. The ABB truly reached their first big peak in 1971, and this single-disc CD showcases the music they presented on the stage each night they went out. Along with some cool samplings of their stage banter are amazing versions of "You Don't Love Me," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and a riveting and unusual "Whipping Post" that ends the show. Get your copy of this outstanding performance and enjoy it time and time again! Click here to order.

It's time again for the Wanee Festival in Live Oak, Florida! This year, like every year, the Allman Brothers Band is joined by a host of great acts, including Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Keller Williams, the Radiators and Rusted Root. Of course, all the other bands that include members of the ABB will be there, from Gov't Mule to the Derek Trucks Band with special guest Susan Tedeschi, and Oteil and the Peacemakers. Butch Truck's son, Vaylor, will be performing in Bonobos Convergence, and Gregg's son, Devon Allman, and his band, Honeytribe, also will be featured. Then there are bluegrass superstars Nickel Creek, hard rockers Rose Hill Drive - the list goes on and on...it's going to be a great weekend!

We will be taking orders for live recordings of both ABB sets from the Wanee Festival at all three Hittin' the Note merchandise tents. Look for us down by the main stage, by the main merchandise booth and up on the hill in the vendors section. The CDs will be manufactured after the festival, and we expect them to be re-mastered and delivered to us in early May. Check in with us at the HTN booth for more details, or click here to pre-order.

Speaking of Wanee, if we have our snazzy Eat a Peach beach towels in stock, then it must be spring! These were so popular last year that we just had to bring them back. We have two different designs, one featuring the front cover of the album with the peach truck, and a new one with the watermelon truck from the back cover. Click here to order either one, or get both for a matching set!

We are starting to sell out of individual 2006 Instant Live shows and have less than ten 2006 Summer Sets left. If you want to order this amazing collection of outstanding performances (including two private shows with special guests Bonnie Raitt and Branford Marsalis), please do so now before they are all gone! Click here to purchase this truly collectible set of ABB music!

This year's Beacon Theatre run has been another one for the ages!  Special guests like Susan Tedeschi, Devon Allman, Peter Frampton, Robert Randolph and Johnny Winter, plus surprising song choices like Miles Davis' "In a Silent Way" and Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" have been among the many highlights of another great dose of "March Madness" in New York City. Whether you want a souvenir of your Beacon trip, or just want to vicariously relive the magic of this legendary stand, we have plenty of great new merchandise for you! Click here to order yours now! Thanks to everyone that came to the HTN Hospitality Party and the Jam For The Cure event on March 31st. Your kind contributions to the Bill Ector Medical Fund and the American Cancer Society were most appreciated!

During the next four weeks we've got a special sale going on with Gregg Allman merchandise, and all orders with any Gregg Allman products will receive a free back issue of Hittin' the Note magazine, featuring Mr. Allman on the cover! Good while supplies last. Click here to see the full line of merchandise.

Scott Boyer, a founding member of the old Capricorn Records band, Cowboy, recently underwent what was fairly major arterial surgery, without the help of health insurance. As good people do for their friends, a very special Scott Boyer Benefit Concert will be held in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alabama Theater. If the first benefit show that was held in Muscle Shoals is any indication, the Birmingham one ought to knock your socks off!

There is a veritable All-Star lineup of greats who will be participating in this event, including the Decoys (Scott's band); the Capricorn Rhythm Section, which consists of Boyer, Tommy Talton, Johnny Sandlin, Paul Hornsby and Bill Stewart; Donnie Fritts, Topper Price, and special guest Gregg Allman, who recorded Scott's great song, "All My Friends," for his Laid Back album in 1973. And you never know who else might show up for such a magical night, as this promises to be! There will also be a house band of stellar musicians whose roots go back a long way, so don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind show!

Take the time to help out a really wonderful guy like Scott, enjoy some of the best music you will ever hear, and be ready for one fantastic night in Birmingham! Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster, so get yours now. If you can't make the show, any contributions you are able to send will be greatly appreciated. Send your checks made out to the Muscle Shoals Music Association for the Scott Boyer Benefit to: MSMA, P.O. Box 2383, Muscle Shoals, AL 35662. Help a nice man out - Scott will appreciate any and all your kindness and help. Share the love with a brother!
