HTN is also excited to announce that the Allman Brothers Band 2007 Summer Tour Merch is now available! Check out the cool, new, red ABB baseball cap, as well as the new Georgia Tour tee celebrating 95 shows over 38 years, including this year's homecoming at Piedmont Park in Hot 'lanta! Also back in stock is the most popular woman's tee we've ever had, the sky blue peach cloud shirt! We're also jazzed to be carrying a whole host of new Allman Brothers Band shirts that you can't get on tour. These shirts have previously been available in upscale retailers like Nordstroms and Urban Outfitters, at much higher prices. Check 'em all out by clicking here!

Hittin' the Note #54 is yet another strong issue, containing all the in-depth, exclusive features that you have come to expect. We kick things off with a retrospective look at the Allman Brothers Band, who, after 37 years, are returning back to Atlanta's fabled Piedmont Park, where the ABB first build its legendary status with epic free shows in 1969 and '70. We also have a great interview with ABB/Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes, the hardest-working man on the music scene; a feature on the up-and-coming John Butler Trio; a conversation with Cody Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars; a commemoration of Stax Records' 50th anniversary, and an HTN exclusive preview of the new book about the musical history of Macon, Georgia, entitled Soul Shakers, Street Singers, and Rebels with a Cause: Music from Macon. In addition, our "Photo Session" section features a pictorial spread on the Allman Brothers Band playing Piedmont Park back in the day. We are very proud of this issue, and hope that you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed putting it together, because, after all, music matters. Hittin' the Note is proud to announce a new festival right here in our home state of Georgia, along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in South Fulton County. The Echo Project features such HTN favorites as Phil Lesh, Tea Leaf Green, moe. and Perpetual Groove, plus many more outstanding artists! In addition to the killer music, one thing that sets this festival apart from others is the intense devotion to doing things in an environmentally sensitive manner. We're not just talking about setting up recycling bins; Atlanta's hometown river, the terribly polluted Chattahoochee, will be cleaned up in a massive project, held in conjunction with local non-profit Rivers Alive. Much of the power for the festival will be generated by alternative energy sources, and the organizers have left no stone unturned in their quest to reduce the environmental impact of this event. In a world where everybody talks about the environment, the Echo Project is actually doing something, and we commend their efforts! To find out more click here!

Last year Hittin' the Note was honored to help sponsor a wonderful New Year's Eve show at the Fox with The Derek Trucks Band and the Susan Tedeschi Band. Susan and Derek's bands played separate sets, then after the big midnight countdown Susan joined the DTB for a series of soulful tunes that were in the pocket and on the money.

The lucky folks in the audience that night got a preview of the Soul Stew Revival tour that electrified audiences all over the US this summer. This exciting new project features all the members of The Derek Trucks Band, Susan Tedeschi, Derek's younger brother Duane Trucks on second drum kit and Ron Holloway from Susan's band on sax, playing their own brand of blues, soul, and beyond.

Well, this New Year's Eve the Soul Stew Revival makes its official debut at the Fabulous Fox Theater with another holiday show that is sure to be a very special event. There will be a Ticketmaster pre-sale through hittinthenote.com on Sept. 9th, with some of the best seats in the house going to the best fans on Earth. Check out the home page of the website for details as the pre-sale draws near.

Fall is right around the corner, which means it is time for the annual gathering of the brothers and sisters known as GABBAfest! The Georgia Allman Brothers Band Association has been holding this event for many years, and it just keeps getting better. Check out www.gabba.org for more information about this great organization and the lowdown on GABBAfest. This year's event takes place October 7th and 8th, with festivities kicking off on Friday night with the Fly Brothers, Mojo Saint, and the Randall Bramblett Band. Saturday features Bonobos Convergence with Vaylor Trucks and the headlining Jack Pearson Band, as well as the annual memorabilia display, Macon historical tour, and all the bonding and fellowship you can handle. We hope to see you there!

Thank you for your support of Hittin' the Note, and all the wonderful music we bring to you. Keep your eyes and ears open for more new, happening items, and support live music whenever you can.
