Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the 2008
ABB Live Summer Set boxes have arrived! We have to say that this
year's edition may be the best-looking one yet. The rich
walnut grain, the crisp gold ABB logo, the sharp and functional
brass latch, all combine to make this a very classy item. With
the serial numbers burned right into the wood, these are truly
a collector's item.
Not to mention that this was probably the best year the current
lineup has ever had. Playing with passion and precision, they
picked up after Gregg's health-related hiatus like they
had never been gone, and played some of the best shows we have
ever seen!
We have less than 20 unsold 2008 ABB Summer Sets left that we
can deliver before Christmas. We will make more sets in January
of next year but the price will be slightly higher. Click
here to place your order now! If you have already put down
a deposit,
click here to pay the remaining balance.
We will begin shipping these box sets next week via UPS. Please
be sure to provide a shipping address where someone can sign for
the delivery of this extraordinary package! |
Besides being a part of the Allman Brothers Band's rhythmic foundation
for nearly 40 years, Jaimoe has a nearly limitless musical appetite
that includes jazz, blues and R&B. When he is not on the road
with the ABB, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band is his primary vehicle for
exploring other aspects of his muse. Featuring excellent players
like Jay Collins of Gregg Allman and Friends, David Stoltz of
Dickey Betts and Great Southern, and guitar slinger and vocalist
Junior Mack, this is a true all-star band. Playing mainly in his
home state of Connecticut, these gigs have become a special treat
for New England Peach-heads, and for years we have had people
asking if this outstanding ensemble would ever release a CD.
Well, not only are they releasing a CD, they are releasing TWO
jam-packed double-disc live sets! These great performances are
quite different from each other, but they are both fantastic.
The
1/28/06 show from the Double Down Grill features the talented
Junior Mack on guitar, and Set One has great versions of the Meters
classics "Cissy Strut" and "Hey Pocky Way," as well as a bluesy
take on "Steady Rollin' Man." Set Two is jazzier, with stellar
renditions of Dizzy Gillespie's "Night In Tunisia" and Wayne Shorter's
"Footprints," as well as an electrifying version of "In Memory
of Elizabeth Reed."
The
2/27/08 show, dedicated to the memory of legendary jazz drummer
Ed Blackwell, is a passionate performance that shows Jaimoe paying
homage to one of his primary influences. The delicate "Twilight
Waltz" and a haunting version of "People Get Ready" are highlights
of the first set, while John Coltrane's "Impressions" and Sam
Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" make Set Two an incredible musical
journey. We expect to receive these CDs around the end of the
year but you can download the shows now. Click here
for sound clips and order these incredible shows
today!
