Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, it is that time once again! The Allman Brothers Band 2007 summer tour starts next week, and as usual, Hittin' the Note is happy to be on the road that goes on forever. Make sure to stop by our booth and say hello, renew your subscription, and meet up with old friends. We'll have 2 free front-row center tickets to raffle away at most every show for those that sign up or renew their subscriptions to our magazine, plus the always-popular "guess the opening song" contest, with HTN T-shirt prizes for the winners each night. We will also be helping out our friends at the Big House Foundation with a raffle contest for a guitar signed by the Allman Brothers Band - so be sure to stop by our tent and participate! There are lots of great bands on this run, from the North Mississippi Allstars to Bob Weir and Ratdog, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Drive By Truckers to JJ Grey and Mofro - so come early and stay late!

Speaking of front row center tickets, The Big House Foundation, in conjunction with the Allman Brothers Band, is pleased to offer a special auction that will allow you to bid on front-row tickets for most ABB concerts, the proceeds of which will be used to help establish the Allman Brothers Band Museum in Macon, Georgia. Here's what you do: register and submit your bids for the show (or shows) of your choice. If you enter the high bid, you win! It's that easy, and your bid is completely tax deductible above the cost of the tickets, as the Big House Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 public charity. Your donation will go a long way in assisting the BHF achieve its goal - opening and maintaining the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House - which was the ABB's home and communal hub in Macon from January, 1970 until early 1973. As a fan of the Allman Brothers, this is the real deal - you can enjoy an ABB show from the vantage point of the front row, and know that you have helped guarantee that the band's musical road will forever lead back to 2321 Vineville Avenue.

If hearing the best live band in America just once isn't enough, or if you can't make it to see the ABB in person, have no fear! Munck Music, the fine company behind this year's ABB Jazz Fest recording, will be taking over the role that was formerly filled by Instant Live and they will be producing CDs of the concerts for pick-up 30 minutes after the end of each show. Be on the lookout for the Munck Mix Tent as well as the HTN Tent where you can order at the show. For those of you that don't purchase at the venue, Hittin' the Note will also have these concerts available for shipping within two to three weeks after each performance - a big improvement over the previous years! These "after-show" packages will have CD cover inserts, may be re-mastered and will have set-list printed on the CDs. To find out more details and to pre-order please click here.

One of the most scenic music festivals in the country, the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival takes place every September in the world-famous resort town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Telluride is a beautiful spot, and some of you may remember the Allman Brothers Band's fantastic performance there back in 2003. This time around bluesman supreme Keb' Mo' is headlining the bill, along with two musical brother acts: Chris and Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes, and Ringo, Henry and Josh Garza of Los Lonely Boys. That's not all, as the Radiators, Robert Randolph, and a host of other great musicians round out the spectacular lineup.

Besides all the great music, you can taste the best microbrews from over 50 microbreweries during Saturday's Grand Tasting, a true beer lover's dream! By night, follow the festival as it flows into Telluride and the nearby Mountain Village--make sure to check out the Opening Bal de Maison and Closing Fais Do-Do. Festival camping is available adjacent to the festival grounds for $40 per person. Camping passes are valid for four nights starting Thursday, September 13. Make a weekend out of it! Beer, blues and mountain views - does it get any better than that? Click here or on the poster image to the right to find out more festival info!

It's only a little over a month until the Allman Brothers Band returns to Piedmont Park for the first time in 37 years! The party starts on Friday night, September 7, at 8:00 p.m. with the Allman Brothers Pre-Show Festival, an outdoor festival outside the Pool Hall at 30 Irby Avenue in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia (behind the Roxy) with Bonobos Convergence (featuring Vaylor Trucks) and the Fly Brothers, the night before the big show at Piedmont Park. We've told you all about the unique music of Bonobos, and The Fly Brothers is an Atlanta-based funk/jam band comprised of Justin Powell on bass and vocals (formerly of Glass, Space Medicine and the Tony Tyler Trance), Stephen Hendrix on guitar (formerly of the Tony Tyler Trance) and Scott Phillips on drums (formerly of Wayside Riders). This show is replacing the show we told you about at Dark Horse Tavern on the 7th, and there will be a lot more room at this outdoor gig for all the brothers and sisters to get their jam on! Check out www.musicmattersentertainment.net for all the details.

Last but not least, HTN is proud to announce that the Allman Brothers Band 2007 Summer Tour Merch is now available! Check out the cool, new, red ABB baseball cap as well as the new Georgia Tour tee celebrating 95 shows over 38 years, including this year's homecoming at Piedmont Park in Hot'Lanta! Also back in stock is the most popular woman's tee we've ever had, the sky blue peach cloud tee! We're also excited to be carrying a whole host of new Allman Brothers Band shirts that you can't get on tour. These shirts have previously been available in upscale retailers like Nordstroms and Urban Outfitters at much higher prices. Check 'em all out by clicking here!
