First, thanks so much for all the kind words and positive comments about HTN 57 - we are very excited about going with an all color-format from here on out! Considering our humble beginnings 16 years ago as a 16-page, B/W newsletter, we have come a long way baby, and we couldn't have traveled this far without your help.

In the same spirit of constantly trying to improve, we are proud to announce an upgrade to our Hittin' the Note website that will be effective at the beginning of July. This latest award-winning software upgrade will make it easier for us to host downloads, streaming audio and video, provide better customer support on the net and lots other cool stuff. It will take a while for us to figure out all the new opportunities that this technology gives us, but if you're patient with us, good things are on the horizon. This upgrade will also require you to re-register, which is the perfect time to practice good security techniques. Try not to use a password like "allman" or "brothers." It's always good to use a minimum of an 8-character password that uses upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters like "#" or "$." That's all you really need to do regarding security as this software package is one of the few that has passed all of the compliance requirements for Visa, MasterCard and the PCI Security Standards Council. Happy shopping!

If there has been one constant in American Rock & Roll over the last 30 years, it's the Radiators. This New Orleans-based quintet has either been touring or recording over this entire time frame, all with original members Ed Volker, Dave Malone, Camile Baudoin, Reggie Scanlan and Frank Bua, Jr.

Now, for the first time, they have gone back through the vaults and put together a retrospective that covers all stages of their career, highlighting live performances and rare studio recordings of their all-time classics, as well as offering unreleased gems. In addition they've recorded two new tracks, "Where Was You At?" and "Girl With the Golden Eyes" specifically for this two-CD, 28-track compilation.

Wild and Free is a well-crafted effort, with something for every Rads fan. It serves as the perfect introduction for the beginning listener, while also giving hardcore fans plenty of obscure treasures. Want to hear some ultra-rare tunes from early in the band's career? There are six tracks from 1978, the year the group was founded. How about red-hot live versions of beloved classics from their '80s Epic albums? You can't find better renditions of "Like Dreamers Do" or "Doctor Doctor" than the ones contained in this bundle of joy. How about the '90s? Check out this epic version of "Songs From the Ancient Furnace" from 1992. The two new tracks mentioned above were recorded mere months ago, making this a truly comprehensive overview that takes you from the band's earliest embryonic stages right up to the present day.

Any doubts about the Radiators' status as one of the greatest bands in American music will be promptly abolished when you hear this cornucopia of musical grooviness. One listen to this set and you'll know why "Wild & Free" is not only a great song and a great CD but also describes the Rads way of life!

Click here to purchase this fine release, and other great classics from Radz Records! Everyone who pre-orders Wild and Free gets a free, limited-edition poster, but supplies are limited, so get going!

Running from July 10th-13th the All Good Festival is almost upon us, and we're ready to go! Phil and Friends and Gov't Mule on the same night? Check! Scrapomatic, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi's Soul Stew Revival, and Widespread Panic the following night? Check! Railroad Earth and Michael Franti to finish things off with a bang on Sunday? Check!

Besides the beautiful location in the mountains of West Virginia, and the laid-back atmosphere cultivated by Walther Productions, one of the advantages of All Good is that there are NO overlapping sets. They rotate between two stages that are close to each other, so you enjoy music all day (and all night) without losing your spot or worrying about missing something good on another stage. Good thinking! For a full stage-by-stage schedule, click here.

As always, we hope to see you at the HTN booth, where we always enjoy meeting our readers and enjoying some good music and great fellowship. We're located in the Campground Area, near the Main Entrance to the concert field, so you can't miss us. Come on by!

And if for some reason you don't have tickets yet, stop procrastinating and click here.

Of course, before we move on to All Good, we have some words and pictures we'd like to share with you about the fantastic Mountain Jam festival in upstate New York. This was a wonderful weekend, and while it was the first time HTN has been at Mountain Jam, you can bet it won't be the last! Click here to read all about it.

Thank you for your support of Hittin'the Note, and all the wonderful music we bring to you. Keep your eyes and ears open for more new, happening items, and support live music whenever you can.
